These are the three most recent winners (excluding books we’ve already read) of all the major literary awards I know of for books published in English.
The hottest award winner in recent months is A Visit from the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan--three major awards already and perhaps more to come.
One thing that strikes me looking at this list is that as many as half the award-winning authors are women. Our reading list for this year, however, had only one female author (Iris Murdoch).
