We won't officially start the nominations until September, but since I already have them done I thought I would go ahead and share the usual lists of anniversaries, awards, and nationalities that we use to come up with ideas for future readings. Feel free to add to them, comment, make preliminary suggestions, and start campaigning for your favorites.
For those who may be just joining our group: We select future readings annually, one book per month. We will soon be selecting those books we will read together in 2012--in plenty of time for members to obtain copies before the first of the year.
Anyone, even brand new members, may nominate books, up to ten per person. Voting is by open ballot as soon as all nominations are in. The lists of anniversaries, awards, etc that I am sharing here are just to generate ideas--you are not restricted in what you can nominate.
