Another idea, but one that has nothing to do with next
: year's selections, is something I mentioned months
: ago. September 2011 will be the 10th anniversary of
: Readliterature.com. We could commemorate the
: anniversary by having a special poll to see what our
: all-time favorites are among the 100+ books that have
: been on the reading schedule over the years. (You
: wouldn't have to have read the book with the group to
: vote for it.) Unfortunately with only five of us
: currently active, that's a rather skimpy electorate.
: Maybe Lale can e-mail some of the former participants
: and get them to take part. What do you think; is it
: worth a try? If you like the idea, I can post a ballot
: as soon as everyone has finished The History of the
: Siege of Lisbon.
:
While I think this is an excellent idea in principle, I personally would be embarrassed to vote. I only "joined the club" at the beginning of 2008. Of the more than 70 books read between 2001 and the end of 2007, I count 16 I've read. I'm really only qualified to judge the past four years (including 2011). If some of the people more active in the past would vote, that would be great.
