We also have a hot and dry summer here, but it is not as bad as that. In the past few summers we have had so many rainy days that it was not possible to enjoy summer at all, so this time around I am not complaining. But I agree, too much heat really discourages me to do anything. I am having this really lazy summer (maybe it's for the best because I haven't had a lazy summer in 5 years.)
I have re-started War and Peace, enjoying it very much.
