Bad Girl and Casey Anthony both remind me of one another. What do you think, Sterling? Are they similar in some ways?
I am not sure if this jury system is the best system we can come up with.
And wall-to-wall media coverage certainly doesn't help. I think if this trial was as quite and as invisible as thousands of other murder trials, Casey Anthony would have been found responsible in one way or another, at least for aggravated child abuse. But when it is so public, so hyped-up, juries don't dare to find defendants guilty.
I also don't believe in sequestered juries. They get fed up with living in a hotel room with no connection to their regular lives or to the outside world. When it is verdict time they just want to go home as quickly as they can.
