Dear friends (listen Lale): I am planning a two-week vacation in Greece and Turkey this spring, probably in three weeks. I am currently reading "The Magus" by John Fowles, which I am enjoying a lot so far (it's long). Previously I read "Istanbul" by none other than Orhan Pamuk (Lale, please don't be mad at me, there aren't many books about Turkey here in Mexico). I also have the Rough Guides and Lonely Planets, etc., plus I read "Zorba the Greek" a year or so ago.
Now, I have very limited time to visit both countries, so I'll have to stick to highlights. Has any of you visited and has some advice, not only on places but also on books? Lale, what should be my priorities in Turkey, especially Istanbul? Thanks in advance.
