Right. For instance, when I watched the movie "Immortal Beloved" about Beethoven's life, I was offended by the way Beethoven, the man who gave us timeless music, was portrayed. The great man was shown in lying in his own urine on the street corner. Why should we show something like this, which may or may not have happened, to the young people who may lose an inspiration to listen/play Beethoven's music. There is no benefit to anyone by humiliating a genius.
On the other hand, last night I watched the movie W about George W. Bush and I was not offended at all by how he was portrayed
I think the future generations would benefit from this movie.
So, I guess it all depends where you stand.
