I've read it. Reread it a bit ahead of everyone this year. I didn't remember especially liking it the first time. I remembered a book about 'the black experience' or something like what you mention. I began it feeling that it was an important work I should reread but with no particular enthusiasm, but I enjoyed it quite well this time.
