The fun begins! Please post your nominations for our reading group for 2010. The process will be essentially the same as last year:
-- Anyone may nominate and vote, including brand new members.
-- Nominate up to ten works of literature. These may be novels, stories, plays or collections of any length. We will schedule approximately twelve selections, more or less depending on length. Extra long works will be allotted extra reading time, so don't be reluctant to nominate those monster novels.
-- Post your nominations as replies to this message thread.
-- You may change your nominations or add more books (up to ten) up to the time that the nominations close.
-- Nominations will close as soon as all seven of the currently active members have finished their nominations. If you don't intend to nominate any works, please say so.(If you are a new member and plan to make nominations, let us know so we don't cut it off before you've had a chance.) If anyone fails to reply, and no one has asked for more time, then we will close the nominations and move on to voting on November 1.
-- Include a very brief note after each work explaining why you want the group to read it. Don't bother to copy descriptions and reviews from Amazon or other sources, as anyone can easily look such things up if they aren't familiar with the work.
As always, the process is flexible if any one wants more time or has other special needs or suggestions.
