A few days ago I finished "Witches of Eastwick" which we will talk about when you guys get there. In the book, there is a paper called "Eastwick Word" or affectionately shortened to just "The Word."
This gave me an idea for my first novel: It will have a newspaper in it, an Ottawa newspaper because the story is taking place in Ottawa.
Other than Friederike, you guys may not know that the local newspaper here has a wonderful name: The Ottawa Citizen (or simply The Citizen). My fictional paper must have an equally cool name but what?
We have Toronto Star (The Star) which I think works also very well. We have all the Suns (Ottawa Sun, Toronto Sun). We have Montreal Gazette, which is a good name but that's in French. Then we have a bunch of Heralds, like the Calgary Herald.
We also have a couple of national papers called "Globe and Mail" and "National Post."
Now, what can I call my Ottawa paper? You guys are very creative, I am sure you'll come up with a good name. Any ideas?
