Actually, Guillermo, I am in almost exactly the same position. I want to read the Hesse, but I'm reluctant to put aside A Suitable Boy, which I'm about halfway through, since The Glass Bead Game is relatively lengthy itself. (It wouldn't matter if we were reading, say, Jealousy this month since it's short.) (For that matter, it wouldn't matter if I were as fast a reader as some of us, but I always plod along...)
