The four titles above are each winners of major awards (3 National Book Awards and a Pulitzer). Is that your reason for selecting them?
I've been accumulating award winners, but the ones I've read so far are mostly just the ones we have read here together. I have three of the above four and can easily pick up the fourth today with a timely 30% coupon I just got from Borders. I'll try to read them in the near future so we can compare notes.
