Yes, you are right. I just looked at the diagram at the front of the book, and it is obvious that the bridge is separate from the road. So I must revise my thinking. It's more likely that Franck's accident is in the husband's mind only--he wouldn't have actually seen it.

I was planning to read it, but not before taking a break for a few days to read something else.
What are the other R-G books you have read? I've picked up whatever I could find at the used books store. In addition to The Erasers (which I read) I have: The Voyeur, Repetition, Recollections of the Golden Triangle, and Maison de Rendez-vous. I was thinking of at least reading The Voyeur this month as well, since it's also in Bloom's Western Canon.
