I don't think his death was mentioned here. I didn't know that he died last year.
Before having read the "introductory essays," I was under the impression that Jealousy was the only book that was written in this style i.e the minute geometric detail. I would have liked it to be that way. Because I liked Jealousy so much, I started reading In the Labyrinth right away. But, the style, the kind of descriptions being the same, it just felt too much and I couldn't read it. I am curious what the story is (I suspect nothing happens in that novel either) but I simply can't read the same kind of lamp/shadow/square/inch description right now. Maybe later.
I think if Jealousy was unique in its style, it would have been much cooler.
