I've read the Proust book. It's nice, I think. It made me wonder about Robert, the good son following in dad's footsteps. It seems likely that he'd have felt some contempt for poor, petted Marcel. I wonder if there was ever a moment when he thought, "My God, I'll be remembered only because of him."
I can't remember exactly how I found this show, but I'm an oddball who searches youtube for the names of books and authors. Botton's program sometimes comes on PBS. I think the first one I saw was about Epicurus. I also watched one about Schopenhauer on youtube. I prefer being told about philosophy to reading it.
