And Joffre answered, My dear, I've read most of them two or three times and will read many of them again periodically over the years. The question is, when do you plan to read all these books? 
I don't anticipate having this problem. It is pretty much the first requirement of my admiration and affection that a person be enthusiastic about good books.
Buy her flowers at the same time - not because that will pacify her, but because it will distract her while you sneak in the books you left on the doorstep.
