So funny you guys mention this. My fiance came over to my apartment this weekend to discuss things I "need to get rid of" before she moves in when we get married this summer. My books are, shall we say, "an issue." While she didn't ask me to get rid of my books (akin to asking me to give up food and water), she did kindly request that the books not be "piled high in every single room," and instead suggested we just devote one entire room in the place to a massive personal library, with books and bookshelves lining every wall. Happy compromise, I think. Though I'm sure if I even mention the idea of buying EVEN MORE books in the future (she has asked me on more than one occassion: "When do you plan to read ALL these books???), it not only will create added tension between us, it could quite possibly put our marriage in jeapardy. So Steven, Lale and others, if you have any more ideas beyond what was already suggested for sneaking books into the house(I don't have a Jeep or a secret compartment, and I don't think the credit card scheme would go over too well with her), by all means, pass them along.
