I didn't read The Streets of Crocodiles, but the comments here made it sound interesting. This video was interesting; the city does look nice.

I'm interested in the act of reading. Does anyone know of a good essay or something about it? I wish I were a better reader. My mind is restless and my concentration often wanders. I probably sit too long with my books sometimes. I try, later, to look up the words I don't know, but I never stop to do it. I wish I could get an unabridged electronic dictionary to keep with me; that would be quick enough to stop for. I am certainly not a speed reader. If I read twenty pages in an hour, I'm doing well. I suppose there are some books that I read that fast.
