Are there any thoughts on these topics? My thoughts: Sequence - Start with Persuasion since it is the most easily obtained, and have Malavoglias/Medlar Tree late in the year since it is the least readily available. In between just mix long and short, old and new. Discussion Leaders - Last time we said that whoever nominated a book would lead the discussion, but I don't think that will work this time because we have a large proportion of repeat and duplicate nominations. Also some members may not have the time to take the lead on a book even if they nominated it. So I would prefer that we start by just asking for volunteers for each book. --Previous Message--

Okay, lets consider it settled that we'll double up Turgenev and Schulz (the Home of the Gentry will be on the Street of Crocodiles) and include Desai in the schedule.
: 13 is a lucky number and that arrangement sounds fine
: with me. Not everybody will read all the books, and
: for me, I will read Desai anyway whether we discuss it
: as a group or not. I bought it already. And those
: interested can always have a side discussion on it.

: I was wondering if we could go for the unlucky number
: and make it 13 books this year with two short books
: squeezed into the same month?
:
: I considered making that suggestion, but didn't want
: to seem like I was just squeezing my own choices into
: the schedule.
:
: Home of the Gentry and The Street of Crocodiles are
: our two shortest books, so we could do those in the
: same month if you like.
