    This just in:

    Suzuka 8 Hours
FCC TSR Honda dominate the free practice sessions

The two free practice sessions of Suzuka 8 Hours was dominated by FCC TSR Honda. Kosuke Akiyoshi, Jonathan Rea and Yuki Takahashi are the only ones to have completed a lap under 2’09 for the first session. They conserved the best lap time for the second session. They precede the Honda MuSashi RT Harc Pro of Ryuichi Kiyonari, Takumi Takahashi and Takaaki Nakagami (2nd of the 300 km of Suzuka 2010) and the Yoshimura Suzuki with Eneos de Daisaku Sakai, Nobuatsu Aoki and Yukio Kagayama. Sakai and Aoki, winners of the 300 km of Suzuka on 13th June, also won Suzuka 8 Hours in 2009.
This Suzuki Yoshimura is the only rival of the Honda armada at Suzuka. As for the CBR1000RR, the most successful today in the free practice session were Keihin Kohara of Shinichi Itoh and Makoto Tamada and the Honda Dream RT Sakurai of Chojun Kameya and Wayne Maxwell.
As for the European teams, the Yamaha France GMT 94 Ipone of David Checa, Kenny Foray and Damian Cudlin are the most successful with a lap time in 2’12.431 seconds. They lead the Yamaha Austria Racing Team of Igor Jerman, Steve Martin and Gwen Giabbani who did their best lap in 2’12.878. The Kawasaki Bolliger Switzerland finishes further down the grid with a lap time of 2’15.535.
The first qualifying sessions will begin tomorrow, Friday, at 11h in Suzuka (GMT + 9 h). It is sunny and very hot (37° C) in Suzuka at the moment. However, the local weather station announces possible thunderstorms Saturday and Sunday.

          Two hours into the race:

          - Yart crashed on 6th lap at the 200R. Back at the race in 42th position. Now currently on 26th

          - Bolliger at 18th postion after a bad start

          - GMT94 retired after hour and a half due to engine problems (Cudlin was on bike)

          - TSR is 16th, after TWO penalties caused by yellow flags at the end of the first stint (both for Akiyoshi!), followed by a crash at Spoon Curve for Rea. They pit-in and returned on 42th place

          - Yoshimura sufered a little crash with Sakai on the firsts laps at the Hairpine...but he returned to the bike, without pit-in. Now is on a very very close battle with Harc-Pro for 1st position, less than a second within. The Honda seems to have advantage over fuel economy, with one more lap, but Yoshimura seems faster on pit work.

          ...and good morning!

            Good morning.

It's very frustrating not being there...

            Bolliger 11th, YART 19th...

              Congratulations Bollie - 9th place

Congratulations Bollie - Top 10 at Suzuka is a fantastic result. It can't go un-noticed at Kawasaki.
And well recovered YART, although I am sure the team is not satisfied with 16th.

It's not going to do Bolliger's championship campaign any harm, either....
