Fireproof balaclavas ? Two still wobbling and messing with the bike while fuelling ? Poorly maintained valves ? ( Actually not a question mark over that one ) . Five involved in the clean up ? No penalties `cos National Motos sponsor the event posters ; Priceless .
The rate those fec`n Le Mans gantries go , that must have been a genourous gallon . At Le Mans rip off prices thats about twenty quids worth !!
If you watch this in slow motion it looks like the ignition point is on the ground behind the bike. I've noticed when I've had the odd fuel spill that everyone else seems completely oblivious of the danger of throwing, dropping or even placing metal items on the concrete - rushing up with a fire extinguisher and clanging it onto the ground being a common response. Also large numbers of people wander round the pitlane who you can hear have metal studs (blakeys) on the underside of their shoes and ladies with nails in their high heel repairs. Fuellers, firemen and team managers should take a more pro-active role in promoting this aspect of safety, also the organisers. I'm sure the 55 boys are feeling a lot better about being made to wear firesuits all the time than they were though!
Thats a very serious event. Apart from the blatent rule breaking that should have been penalised, and I hope was. Tackling a fuel spill on a hot bike with no protection is lunacy! What are those guy's thinking? I hope no one was seriously burnt, that event should be investigated and some changes made to the teams approuch to fire safety. I think if bikesport wants to keep going forward and gain the sponsors that everyone is looking for then the safety managment of the teams and sport needs to be at least current if not ahead of whats expected these days. Would anyone go to their normal place of work and except these risks and ways of doing things? If you say yes then you need to look at some current safety laws and or change jobs quick cause your gonna get hurt soon! I'd like to know the Frnch Governments safety groups view of this event. Massive fine for somebody? Take care people!
They are getting very clever! Did anyone else get this ad above the previous story?

Anyone has decent proper email contacts from any photographers that were taking photos at LeMans 2010??? I am dying to buy photos but dont have no contacts of any photographers....
I tried Esprit racing, they say they dont sell or give their photos to anybody, David Reygondeau from good-shoot.com does not respond to several mails at all, and that's pretty much about it from the contacts of photographers i know....
Hope to get some response here.
Thank you all! Best regards, Jure
