Wasn't going to get involved in this, promised myself that. Anyways, here it goes.

You all know what I think of Russell, its all I can do to not walk up to him and tell him what a true dickhead he is. If any of you truly know how he treats people you wouldn't be so quick to stick up for him. Age, do you sponge bath with Russ? Just curious. The lack of respect he shows people, in this case riders, is amazing. Anyone who has ever ridden for him would be quick to point out that the team of people that work for Phase One are some of the best you could meet. My time there meeting such people as Steve Rose, Ben and of course mr skinny man, the great Chubby, were some of the great memories I have.

What many of you have to realize is that this is a buisness. You all choose to work for nothing, pay for your own ways etc etc....... its a hobby for you and that's your choice. Much like golf is a hobby for some others. While most of you would love to get on a bike and race at Le Mans for free, you would get to a point where your talent could earn you money. This is money that Damo relies on. He has worked hard and has shown true dedication to Russ as we all have. He had a great offer to go to another team this year and stayed at Phase One because he believed it gave him the best chance to do well. Having his brother there was also an influence. But as usual Damo will be another rider in the long list who can't stand Russell. He isn't well liked. I have ridden for many a team manager and still speak to nearly all of them.

The fact that Martin took down Damo's post is funny to me also. What was said that could be so incriminating? We all love a series that truthfully most of the motorcycle world couldn't give a shit about. This isn't Moto GP, how many people go to this site? This is like a Phase One website. Everyone gets on here to have a joke or stick up for Russ, because you feel you have to. Its fair for him to tell you everything, but as soon as someone sticks up for themselves here, well thats just to much!!

Damo's situation over here is so much different than racing for P1 again this year. With P1 he has history and turned down other rides because he was guaranteed. Over here it was take a chance to get his name out for the future.

How can Russell send an email with things that arent even true to Damo? At this stage? Unreal. And to tell him its ok to ride for someone else at Qatar? Are you kidding me? What a joke. Tell's him that he can't afford him but is going to spend the money to go to Qatar? Don't any of you see something wrong with that? The kid commited to Russ. I tried to warn Damo of this shit at start of the year, now he knows. 25th year is all some of you think about, its a joke! The reason why its a hobby and your not getting paid has nothing to do with being a British team in Endurance, its because the guy leading the charge is F*%$stick! Ask P1 members that were around when I was about my relationship with Yoshimura and there willingness to perhaps help us. No way was I letting that happen with Russ leading the way, couldn't do it. His lack of professionalism is what has kept P1 being the "privateer" team it has been. Good equipment, great people just poor leadership, to bad.

In closing, Russ has given people a chance, that we all thank him for. However once your in and see how your treated its really to bad. What has happened here, especially last race of the year is unneceptable. Telling others to put there hands in there pockets like some of you have stated is wrong. These are commitments that Russell made not other people. P1 shouldn't even be going to Qatar without taking care of the commitments that were made to start the year.

I hope Damo and Amy can find somehting in the US. They support each other and are working hard, I will do everything I can to help them. Keep your fingers crossed.

      Jason (and everyone else)

What you have done here is expressed your opinion, which you're free to do. I *had* to take down the original thread (not just Damo's post) because people (not just Damo) were stating potentially libellous things as facts which I can't check.

I'm not doing this through loyalty to one side or the other, but because I don't want to receive a solicitor's letter telling me to close the message board.

As the owner of the site I'm legally responsible for what's on it. I've been doing this internet lark for over 15 years, as an individual, for small and large organisations, for the government, and now as an academic, and I know where the boundaries are.

Can we now all move on to another subject please?
