Good news folks!! RB's found an engine lying behind the sofa. Its an ex-works Moto Guzzi engine that was propping up his bookshelf. Little used since Bill Lomas last rode, it's apparently a Guzzi single with 7 spare cylinders. Even Moto Guzzi had doubts about the reliability of their bikes, so engines came ready equipped for mechanical failure. Could be a vital time saving device in endurance racing.
No word on when P1 will be testing this mechanical saviour, but Chubby San in reported to be using a 45lb drift to nudge it into an R1 frame. Expect MCN to give full coverage to this remarkable machine after Pete 'Out of Retirement' Linden has given it a test run at the renowned P1 Cannington test track. Sponsors (particularly paint, rust prevention, chrome, electrical and engineering companies) are advised to contact the team immediately to ensure their names are on the bike in readiness for what will be a spectacular climax to P1's 25 years of racing.
