Just spoken to Russell Benney: “We were in a comfortable sixth position and challenging French fire-brigade team the Sapeurs Pompiers for fifth place, with 2009 World Endurance Champions Yamaha Austria just ahead in fourth place, when our race came to a sudden but very final concluson. The left hand end of the crankshaft sheared off near the alternator; completely unexpected, but that's endurance racing. “Our rider line up of Damian Cudlin, Alex Cudlin and Pedro Valcaneras had been performing brilliantly, with only 0.8 seconds between their lap times. Alex started the race, and by the end of the third hour we were up eighth place. At the close of the fifth hour we running in sixth place, but that was as high as got. “We've had lots of support up and down pit lane this weekend because this was the 25th anniversary of our first endurance race, and we're already looking forward to the next race, in Qatar on November the 14th."
