On this, my first visit to www.jerryonlyhere.net, I see a lot of messages wishing you all the best on your 70th birthday. I'd like to be one of the first to wish you a Happy 71st birthday (March 20/08).
Your pickin' is amazing. I've been a fan since "The Bird" first came out in '82.
I play keyboard with one hand, but I still think of you and "The Chief" (Chester) as my chief mentors and influences.
I don't know if I'll ever get to see you in this life, Jerry, but I do have faith that I will meet both you and Chet in the next one, and if I do, I hope to be able to turn a duet into a trio.
I'd also like to see you while you're still here, but where I live in Canada and don't have a schedule of your appearances, I'm thinkin' that one could be a tad tricky.
Anyway, son, best wishes for a happy, healthy and successful 2008.
