Sorry, I was assuming you're British just because I am LOL Yeah Tesco is Britain's biggest supermarket chain. It is estimated that one out of every 8 British pounds is spent at Tesco! It's absolutely staggering really.. They have this price check thing online, so they can tell us how much cheaper they are than the other supermarkets, but on items where I know Asda are cheaper by about 50p, they don't seem to have Asda's price available to them. Funny, that!
: Sorry it's taken me so long to post a reply.
: I've just been upto my neck with school
: work.
:
: Pharmaceuticals are a rip off. There are
: generic version of almost every drug, but
: they like to push the namebrands. There is
: such a deregulation in price. I just feel
: bad for those who don't have insurance to
: cover it, especially some of the elderly who
: live on very fixed income.
:
: Tesco is that a supermarket? "Same low
: price" is another popular one. The
: price stays the same, but they reduce the
: contents. A bag of crisps use to be full of
: crisps, now for the same price I get a bunch
: of air and a lot less crisps. It should say
: "Same low price with much fewer
: crisps" lol!

: Yeah that's very true. Also, the brand named
: painkillers cost so much more than the
: generic ones that have exactly the same
: amount of the same active ingredients. What
: a con..
:
: Another one is Tesco (I'll happily dob them
: in because everybody knows they do this
: stuff anyway LOL) We'd been buying milk from
: them for ages at 28p a pint. One week it had
: a red sign next to it saying 'new low
: price!' which is intended to make you
: believe they'd dropped the price; however,
: they'd actually raised it to 30p. They
: weren't lying though, it was a low price,
: and it was new.. but it wasn't as exciting a
: deal as they'd led us to believe LOL

: Excellent point on the concept of
: improvement!
: Like they say two heads are better than one.
: Lies or play on words is how they get
: consumers everytime.
:
: Here's another one to think about....
:
: No other pain reliever is more effective
: than Ouch. (Ouch is a ficticious name I am
: using for the sake of this example).
:
: A quick reading of that sentence might lead
: you to the impression that Ouch is more
: effective than any other pain reliever,
: especially because you see the words
: "more effective". This reading,
: however, is incorrect. The assertion here
: is only that no other pain reliever is more
: effective; in other words, Ouch is at least
: as effective as other pain relievers. If it
: read, Ouch, is at least as effective as
: other pain releivers it is unlikey to sell a
: lot.

: Hahaha that's very true.. after all if it's
: new it can't be an improvement, because
: there wasn't a predecessor. Damn their
: lies!!! LOL If I see new and improved on a
: product I always worry, because it usually
: means they loused it up!

: Well here it is the "new and
: improved" thread. I never understood
: the logic behind a product being new and
: improved. A product is either new or it's
: improved. Making an existing item better
: doesn't qualify it as new or does it?
:
: I did see a listing of shows Needledrop did
: last fall. There was actually only one in my
: area, but it would have been nice to go.
: Hopefully they'll tour again!
:
: Oh I heard Paul McCartney played at halftime
: during the Superbowl yesterday. Paul's
: making a come back (the new and improved
: Paul-lol)
:
:
: you're right about the new thread; however,
: I seem to be rubbish at starting new ones,
: so I had better leave that to you LOL
: Needledrop did a few shows last November
: didn't they. I didn't get to any of them
: though, the nearest to me was still too far
: away. I'd love to see them though.
