It would be a good idea to include your location in any postings you make - otherwise nobody knows if you are in their paret of the country.
To get started you may have to volunteer some of your time - photographers will often indicate if they are willing to spend time helping a new model - referred to as TPF (time for prints) or TFCD (time for pictures on a CD) to help you build your portfolio.
A local sketch club might be looking for new models.
If you can't find a local club or photographer to help you out, try asking a friend to take some pictures of you posing like sone models in glamour magazines and see how they turn out. As with alomst anything else, practice makes perfect.
