You are probably referring to the Wilkes family cemetery, which is located near Coventry Way on the west side of Old Brandywine Road, and I believe that one of its boundaries is Alan Drive. If this is the cemetery you are referring to, I do not know whether slaves were buried here, but I do know that descendants of slaves who worked at His Lordship's Kindness were buried here.
Keep in touch with us here at the Historical Society regarding this cemetery, especially if you are worried about any disturbance of the property. We are here every Saturday afternoon (noon to 4 p.m.) at 301-464-0590.
