I just read over my first response to this sequence of messages, and see that I left out a very important word ("not" 
. The "Lane End Farm" property was NOT included in the County's inventory of historic properties, and therefore was NOT subject to the county's preservation ordinance. Before the recent clearing of the surrounding land, that farmhouse was totally invisible from public roads. I only learned of its existence when I was invited to give a presentation there. It was really pretty much unknown when the inventory was compiled.
