Yes, Beall's Pleasure was a large plantation - the house was built circa 1820. I'm not certain whether all of the golf club property would have originally been part of Beall's Pleasure, but at least it would have been close.
I will check in our library collections to see whether we have any history of the golf club, and will let you know - I think we have a little . . .
