The 1870s are a very difficult period to find newspapers in Prince George's County. There is a gap in our collections of extant County newspapers, between the early 1860s and the late 1880s. And the Prince George's papers rarely carried anything about Anne Arundel residents, unless the individuals were closely connected with the old families of Prince George's.
