In which building was your grandmother born? (a) the little late 18th-century storehouse which is directly across Riggs Road (at 8402) from Adelphi Mill, and which was later converted into a dwelling; or (b) the original miller's residence (of the same vintage but later enlarged) at 2201 Cool Spring Road, across Riggs Road from the mill, and a little farther north. We have information about both of them, copies of which I'd be glad to send you by U.S. mail if you send me a mailing address. Or you can come in to the library here at Marietta, 5626 Bell Station Road, Glenn Dale, during our regular library hours, Saturdays, noon to 4 p.m.
Thanks,
: My grandmother Lula M. Melton was born in the
: Miller House across from the Adelphi Mill
: and would like information on that Landmark.
: We lived at 8503 Riggs Road, Adelphi. I am
: interested in the history and do have a
: sketch of the house, that my grandmother
: had. She passed away at the age of 96 in
: September 2004
