In all of the research on 18th and 19th-century properties that I have done in the area of Watts Branch, I have never found a landowner with the name of Watts. But I have researched only those properties within the boundaries of Prince George's County. So the branch was probably named for someone whose property was within the boundaries of D.C. I suggest that you contact the Historical Society of Washington D. C. at 202-785-2068. Good Luck!
: I am trying to find out some information about
: Watts Branch. What is the orginality of the
: name Watts Branch. Could the name been
: named after somebody. Basically that is

: which has the name Watts Branch stream which
: goes into the potomac river. Any help that
: you could provide me would be greatly
