I have checked with the staff at Poplar Hill on His Lordship's Kindness, and they have no indication of a connection between Chandler Hale and Nathan Hale. Check with the staff there at 301-856-0358.
: I had only a cursory knowledge of Poplar Hill,
: His Lordship's Kindness in Clinton. Doing
: further reading I noticed it was owned in
: the 1930's by Chandler and Rachel Cameron
: Hale. Would Chandler Hale have been a
: descendant of the New England Hales of whom
: the patriot Nathan Hale is the most famous ?
: Also, while I have no idea what their social
: life and entertaining consisted of, being
: yankees/northerners I'd be interested to
: know how they fit in with the more
: established southern aristocracy that
: characterized that area of the county, more
: so then I'd think that what remains today ?
: Thank you.
