In response to your question about newspaper coverage of a fire in Riverdale in December 1963, I have checked the inventory of newspapers, and find that we do not have any local newspapers at the Historical Society library that cover the year 1963. I did find, however, that two different libraries have a complete run of the Prince George's Post (printed in College Park)from 1939 to 1976 on microfilm - you can read these either at the library of the University of Maryland, College Park, or in the publications room of the Hyattsville Library on Adelphi Road.
The fire that you referred to could very well have been covered by the Prince George's Post. Good Luck!
