Immigration Questions for a newbie

If anyone can help - my family and I are landing on 5 May 2008 (me, wife and two boys (3yrs and 5yrs)) and we will be in Vancouver for five days before setting off on an RV trip around BC for two months. We need to get the basics sorted out, like medical insurance, drivers licences, life insurance, mortgage etc. Any advice from someone? As a note, we have already done the whole landed immigration thing in Sep 2005 and have our SIN and PR cards/Nos. We need to get back to Canada by the middle this year to nmake sure we do the 730days in the first five years thing.
