I have seen previous postings for engineering jobs. The oil sands companies need engineers, mechanics and pipefitters. North American Oil Sands Co. plans to spend $7.4 billion on expansion in the area by 2015 according to Globe and Mail. Petro-Canada is another company that needs lots of workers.
