I have been 'active' on this site for more than 7 years. Even made it through the good old mud slinging times.....remember the good old days when you could get yourself 'banned'.
The formate has not changed since the beginning.
It's not very user friendly when you want to see the latest posts. You have to scroll down to a topic to see if anyone has replied.
What has changed is the number of pop ups and unsolicited adds, to the point where at one stage no-one was posting for months on end except for the guys in Japan trying to sell Jap car parts.
Sites come and go. For a site like this to 'survive' it has to firstly be administered properly and secondly at least be updated.
I can't post pictures here, I can't send an instant message or PM, I can't find a search function and lastly I will never associate my e-mail address with a site like this.....not after what happened to my PC 4 years ago.
So Dave or who ever administers this site if you are looking for traffic then you have to offer decent roads otherwise people will use other routes.
Imagine a guy sitting at his computer in SA. Sitting there in his study after a days work, locked away behind his burglar bars, sipping his Klippies and Coke. This guy has decided enough is enough and he wants to immigrate, so he starts to research the idea. Do you honestly think he is going to look at a site where the most exciting thing that happened in the last few months is nothing, or do you think he will want to see pictures of far away places. Having his questions and querries answered in minutes. Being able to network. Being able to send and RECEIVE secure e-mails and PM's.
Think about it!
Yes this started off as a great site, and it still can be. Don't get upset with those that critisize.....listen to them. If not then you will loose them to a site that does.
