Nice quote...but I've always liked this one better...
It's that simple. There's too many assholes. There's too many people that just take themselves so seriously when in fact really those are the people who are probably more insecure than anyone else. And then so they overcompensate, they overcompensate and they feel like they've got to put on a front and are defensive and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
I learned a long time ago even you know, there's been many lessons that treated me, that has taught me humility. Among family angst, stuff that happened and all the stuff that happens in your life and hopefully they are lessons and gifts and curses and whatever... but at a certain point you have a chance to assimilate the stuff that's thrown at you and then you kind of go "Okay, I'm going to choose to be a victim or a survivor. I'm going to try to process this in a healthy way and move forward." Otherwise you're stuck. And one of the things that's so beautiful about getting the chance to play music for people is that you know, it's important work. It's not just "Hey, I'm going to try to impress you," part of it is you know, God gave us all a gift.
Things that make you go hmmmm....
