" When I'm constantly touring and working for other artists it's hard to accomplish what I'd like to do with the time I need to put work into my own music....so there is always a trade off with deciding to put so much time and energy into another artists music and touring life... Dean Parks has been the guitarist of choice for C/N since their newest record that we both played on and contributed compostions to. Dean has been very good friends with the Kunkels (the producers of the C/N record) and David and Graham have worked with him on and off for many, many years, so Dean was given the lions share of the attention on that record and offered their tour, which initally surprised the heck out of me with my ultimate exclusion, but things happen as they supposed to. Dean is a master player and a wonderful human being. I think it's important for everyone to get a chance to work with different people and new senarios to keep music and life evolving, and this is certainly no exception. I keep the faith that all happens for a larger purpose and I have much work to do to accomplish what I would like to in this life as a solo artist. I always felt very honored to be of service to the various combinations of CSN when I was invited to do so and I am excited at the many new propects at hand in my sphere now. Although I am indebted to them for the many opportunities I would like to think that they are equally greatful for the time I put into supportiing thier efforts. It's been an amazing ride...we'll see where it all leads!
I have no plans to work with them as of now, actually. It's been many years we have all worked together and there is something to be said about keeping things fresh and moving forward. Of course one never knows where life leads us all but I'm currently busy working on a number of my own projects.
Happy New Year to all
