Posted by Barb on 7/31/2006, 10:43 am, in reply to "Just something perty" None of them breached for us, but still they were really close and the day couldn't have been more beautiful, and the ocean was very calm..a little calf slept by the side of the boat for awhile on the surface, they had to shut the boat off cause they didn't want to disturb it..(taken right after it woke up) While idling, one of the big males came up right next to the boat and checked us out... If you have out of town guests (as I did) it really was worth getting up at 5am to go see..
Went whale watching on Saturday, out of Gloucester (Cape Ann)
there were so many whales out, probably saw at least 20 or more...
it was really cool!
