That red rackmount "box" on my amp is a LIne 6 Rackmount POD Pro, which I used for some of the tones as well...(we filmed 10 episodes in 2 days so it was pretty much a blur to me)....but the POD is usually used in the studio to emulate amp sound when recording WITHOUT an amp.....because we were recording my guitar sounds very quietly in the studio I sometimes added it for a little more warmth, to approximate what you would normally get through an amp turned up a little bit....the tubes and all that...but because we were also taping audio (my voice) I couldn't turn up the guitar amp that loud to get the sound you would norally get...so having the line 6 POD in line helped to get more of an amp sound without having to freak out the audio technician....
