Lot's of issues here.....Playing Baby I love your way isn't exactly playing "classical guitar", per se..but that being said, Frampton is an amazing musician and a very nice man, to boot...I have had the pleasure hanging with him on a couple occaisions and he is a charming fellow and a great story teller...funny and not precious at all...
To answer your inquiry..Yes, I have played with symphony orchestras numerous times....probably a dozen symphony dates with Ray Charles, years ago....and a couple also with Crosby and Nash...
I think there is some ambiguity to the term "playing classical guitar"...Playing a nylon string guitar is sometimes considered "playing classical guitar" but in reality...playing Mozart or Vivaldi is what is moreso considered actually "playing classical guitar"....
There is a style and posture....positioning of the hands and fingers to play true classical guitar...and all the notes are usually previously composed and written many years ago by Classical Composers....playing classical compositions and that sort of thing.....
All that being said love playing nylon string guitar and having an opportunity to play with a symphony is absolutely amazing.... I hope to do more....
I hope life is treating you well, amigo...If you see Peter please send him my regards....
Thanks
JP
