Today's performance ranks with anything that City did in the famous Cup run of the late 1960s in my opinion.
After watching the unfortunate Paulton cave-in yesterday on television, people could be forgiven for thinking that non-league players always run out of steam half way through the second half. City disproved that altogether, and ran them ragged, particularly in the second half, when they were dominating much of the play and finishing so strongly that the winning Burton goal was completely against the run of play.
The Choir, plus a couple of hundred extra choristers, performed spendidly, and were City's twelfth man this afternoon. I think we were louder than the home supporters!
Nearly a replay, which was on the cards until two minutes (or less) from the end of the 5 minutes of extra time (!!!). Full marks to all the team, and Mike and the rest of the staff for serving up the best City display for many years. A gritty and fabulous performance.
