Though not to the new ground, City have been to Burton before in the FA Cup: in the Preliminary Round 31 years ago. Burton were then in Division 1 North of the Southern League.
City lined up slightly differently from the programme listing:
Taylor, Allen, Glass, Selby, Tucker, Massey, Lever, Green, Dallaway, Prescott, Sinnott. Sub.: Moxham.
And Bob Green scored the only goal of the game to take City through. Unfortunately City crashed out at home in the next round to Midland Combination champions Sutton Coldfield Town (0-3)
