City vets stayed top of the Hellenic prem with a frustrating night, for the temporary management of Paul Holden ,and Paul creed.Having 80% of the ball thoughout the first half, city couln't break down a solid shrivenham ,defence and midfield...How ever crosses from Mark Orlando, and Chris Fontaine, should and could have been converted,by Dave Southam,Phil Rodney, and Paul Spittle..The break through came midway into the first half, when Orlando's pinpoint cross, found the on rushing Rodney,to head home..Soon after Spittle's 20 yard volley missed by inches,he was then denied by a top class save, from the shrivenham keeper..Colin Fleet was a spectator for much of the first half, but pulled off a first class save in the dying minute's.After a half time grilling
,city again started the better,Andy Marriot,Mark Smith and Rodney all missed golden opportunities..Phil Rodney crashed one against the bar midway through the second half, and to their credit shrivenham kept plugging away, and was nearly rewarded with a goal, only their forward some how missed an open goal ,with Fleety grounded..This livened city up,and with 10 minutes to go,Chris Fontaine slotted home from 15 yards, for their second, much to the relief of the management, and the ever present 15 supporters..come on the city!!![]()
