Thanks, Hugh, for an accurate report on a splendid City performance. Bedford started brightly but were disappointing once we got in front. Steele's finshing was superb today and I thought Liam Malone had another sterling match: he is an improved player. He looks half a yard quicker than last season and was really bossing the midfield in the second half. Clarke also played well as you said and it was great to see Steve Davis back and looking hungry when he came on. But for me the revelation of the last few games has been Mark Janes. I was a bit surprised when he was taken off because he was playing so well and Bedford looked troubled every time he got the ball. It's great that three lads who came up through the ranks as youngsters together are in the squad now--Bell, Janes and Davis--and all so good going forward. Only downside for us today was the recurrence of Andy Ballard's knee injury on his return. If Andy Gunn is still unfit next week we could be struggling defensively.
