The vets are back in action this Wednesday with a home fixture at CPF against Bicester Town in a pre-season friendly, kick off 7.45PM. We kick off our league campaign the following Wednesday on the 16th with a tough start away to last years champions, Wantage Town.
We have added a few new players this season to strengthen the squad, and a few have also left. Stuart Clarke has left to join Kidlington, Matty Elbro has gone back to Watlington and Mark O'Hara has decided to hang up his boots after his horrendous injury he picked up last season.
In to the squad comes Dave Southam and Shaun Pearce from Kidlington, Phil Lynch joins us from Wantage Town, also 2 ex city players Paul Spittle & Matty Hayward and also ex Didcot & Wantage player, Mark Smith is added to the squad. Paul Kimber and Lee Bastable will also join the ranks once they turn 35 in the new year.
The full squad is as follows: Colin Fleet, Mick Torres, Robert Tutton, Liam Carroll, Gary Murphy, Andy Marriott, Mark Jennings, Mark Lewis, Mike Ford, Julian Dark, Matty Hayward, Martin Smy, Simon Pagano, Lee Bastable, Mark Smith, Chris Fontaine, Paul Spittle, Ronnie Williams, Mark Orlando, Justin Lee, Tim Bowley, Julio Barresi, Dave Southam, Shaun Pearce, Phil Rodney, Paul Kimber, Phil Lynch, Wayne Holden.
Julian Dark (Hamstring) & Ronnie Williams (Thigh muscle) are both unavailable for the friendly this week. Julio Barresi is also unavailable for the first couple of weeks. Mike Ford is also unavailable this week, as he ate too much Jam Roly Poly pudding at a barbecue over the weekend?
