It's been so nice to read the messages of support from people at local clubs like Thatcham and Didcot. There are always going to be a few popping up on an open board like this just to have a dig, but the genuine supporters of most clubs are decent, fair and generous in their comments. I thought the atmosphere was great at Diddy on Wednesday, and we left with the good wishes of those Diddy fans who had sat around us. A number of them came up to support us today, as well as at least one of their players (Richard Peirson, ex-City, good on yer). Another ex-player there, Colin Simpson, still seems to have an affection for the club, even though (like Peirson) he has scored against us inthe past seven days! And if some fans from Staines came up today, well thanks to them too--not to mention quite a few, no doubt, from OUFC. It's one of the great advantgaes on non-league over league football, these friendly rivalries between local clubs, with no animosity. I'm sure most City fans would love to see Diddy promoted next season (and would hope City would survive to play them again in 2009-10!). And if Thatcham or Abingdon could join them, that would be perfect. So thanks again to all you local fans for your good wishes--you'll always be welcome at CPF.
