I agree, it works as an incentive more times that not. I used to always look forward to playing Wealdstone because they would try and put players off with their verbals, it never worked and in most instances I would have a decent game against them.
So I would encourage you guys to be behind the team even more than you already are and just ignore him. A pantomime villain needs an audience, don't give him one.
